Double Up
In Utero Electroporation is a powerful tool for developmental neurobiologists, developed in the early 2000’s. Double UP is an improvement upon that technique. By utilizing Cre and LoxP flanked reporters, we have generated a system in which cells are randomly either green and control, or red and expressing a protein of interest. This allows for more direct comparison of control and experimental cells within a single slice of tissue. It is available here through Addgene.
Tron Machine
The TRON Machine is a Java-based program allowing for quick, easy and reproducible quantification of neuron location relative to any user defined region of interest. It is downloadable at www.go.wisc.edu/tron.
